AMANDA DAVIES

MANAGER

Lead Safeguarding Officer (LV 4)

Lead SENCO

Family Liaison

Hi, I'm Amanda and I've been working at Impstones since February 2008 and have been the Manager since December 2012.

I have lived in Tadley for most of my life and am married with 2 children, with one in Uni and the other in college!!  They both attended Impstones, which is how I began working here:)

I have a great passion for educating children and feel this early stage of their development plays a vital role in how they will grow throughout their school life and then on in to adulthood.

I look forward to working with your child(ren) and your family to help you with the transition of separation and then on to 'big school' life!!

VICKIE JONES

Deputy Manager

Speech & Language Lead

Hi, my name is Vickie. I live in Baughurst with my husband and four boys!

I started working at Impstone in October 2014 and I am thoroughly enjoying my days at the preschool. Previously I was a paediatric nurse on the Special Care Baby Unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital which I thoroughly enjoyed, however, I left to focus on my family.

I take great pride in working as part of a team and helping, along with the other team members, to give your child(ren) a positive, secure, fun and safe environment to help their future learning.

I am excited to be working with your family and I am always available if you need to discuss anything.

KERRI CARRUTHERS

Senior Practitioner

Hi. I’m Kerri. I live in Pamber Heath with my husband, five lively boys and my rescue dog. I am a really busy, active person with a passion for children and the outdoors.

I have a degree in sociology and philosophy. I worked in public relations and media for a charity for several years before becoming a Mum. I then had four boys’ in 6 years and was kept very busy at home learning from my four very energetic and individual children! I have since had another little boy, who is now keeping us all on our toes!

You may recognise me as an elected Basingstoke Borough Councillor representing Tadley and Pamber. I have been a Councillor for 5 years. I grew up in Tadley after moving here at the age of 9. My Dad was a Councillor before me and I share his passion for our community which is why I chose to follow in his footsteps.

10 years ago I began my first job in a pre-school. I love working in Early Years and have learnt an enormous amount from the incredible colleagues, children and families with whom I have had the pleasure to work with. I completed my level 3 qualification early on in my Early Years career. I have experience of working with SEN children, most recently as a 1:1 for a child with complex needs. I am really excited to be part of the Impstone team whilst doing what I love in this amazing community and I am really looking forward to working with you and your children.

EMMA NICHOLSON

Senior Practitioner

Hi my name is Emma and I live in Tadley, where I grew up, with my husband and four gorgeous, crazy children.
Before Impstone I did a degree in politics (and a bit of psychology) at Cardiff University, while also taking part in a student tutoring programme at a junior school.

I have also undertaken various courses, such as child nutrition and health, educational psychology, understanding behaviour in 0-5 year olds and makaton. I have recently gained my level 2 in mental health in children and young people.

I bring textbook knowledge,  real life experience, and a passion for learning through play to nurture confident, resilient, curious minds and a solid foundation for good education.

I started at Impstone as bank staff in 2018 (with my third child) and was welcomed into a wonderfully supportive, caring, inspirational team and undertook my early years educator level 3 qualification. After some time off to have my fourth child, I returned to rejoin the team as a senior practitioner.

I very much looking forward to meeting you and your child(ren).

ANNA CHAPMAN

Senior Practitioner

Hi, Im Anna.
I left school at 16 as I always had a passion to work with children. I studied my diploma in childcare for 2 years and ever since then have worked with a wide range of children in different settings from day nurseries right up to primary school.

I now have 2 of my own children; my eldest came to Impstone and from the moment we came to visit, I knew this was the preschool I wanted him to be at. It had such a welcoming, loving and nurturing feel to the setting and he absolutely loved being there; I feel so privileged to be a part of the team for myself now!

No two days are the same with any child, and that’s what I love about working in Early Years, you never quite know what to expect, but what an amazing opportunity it is to be able to help children with their learning through playing and having fun.

I look forward to meeting you and your children:)

AMANDA WATERWORTH

L2 Practitioner

Hi, my name is Amanda. I live in Tadley with my husband and 3 beautiful children.

I started my practitioner journey in 2015 at another local preschool. I instantly fell in love with the career and knew it was the right path for me. I went on to complete my NVQ Level 2 in Early years before taking a break to have my two sons.

My youngest son joined Impstone in 2023. I was so impressed that when the opportunity came up, I jumped at the chance to be a part of an amazing team and joined after Easter 2023.

I'll look forward to meeting your child(ren) and your family.

ELLY BURROWS

Trainee Practitioner

Hi my name is Elly, I live in Tadley with my Husband and 3 girls. We love the outdoors and have a dog named Bonnie.

I have always had a passion working with children. I started my career as an RAD/ISTD dance teacher, teaching children and adults of all ages.

Over the years I have worked at many different schools and environments, from primary school to secondary school, mainly working with children with SEN/visual impairment and emotional support.

When my family grew and we made the decision to move to Tadley, I enrolled my eldest daughter at Impstone and Cherry Trees Preschool. I quite quickly realised what an amazing preschool it was and how much my daughter
was thriving there.

In 2024, I took the leap and went for a job at the setting. I absolutely love coming into work each day and being a part of the children’s learning and development journey. I love playing and being silly with all the children, but also bringing different and exciting ways to learn and develop, through my years of experience.

I am currently taking my level 3 in childcare, which will be completed this year.

I look forward to meeting you all and working with your children during their time with us:)

SOPHIE PEARCE

Trainee Practitioner

Hi, I’m Sophie. I live in Tadley with my partner and 2 young children.

Prior to starting Impstone, I achieved a degree in adult nursing and specialised in Gastroenterology at Royal Berkshire Hospital for 5 years. However, since becoming a parent, my eyes were opened to the amazing opportunities that learning through play can offer children. I decided to follow my passion and change my career and I am almost qualified as a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner.

My eldest child attended Impstone and Cherry Trees Preschool for 2 years. She developed so much, loved her time here and made some amazing relationships with staff and children. So when the opportunity to join the team came up, I jumped at the chance and I have loved working here from day one.

I pride myself in creating a fun, enjoyable and safe environment for all children attending our preschool. I enjoy planning group circle times and 1:1 activities to provide children with endless opportunities to learn and develop during their time in preschool (and preparing them for 'Big School'!!).

I look forward to meeting you and your child(ren).

SARAH CHARLTON

Trainee Practitioner

Hi, my name is Sarah. I live in tadley with my two lovely sons and my husband.

I started working for Impstone Preschool in October 2024. Previously I worked in Human Recourses for 8 years gaining my level 3 & 5 CIPD qualification. I enjoyed my time in this role but I left in order to spend more time with my young family.

I thoroughly enjoy planning and creating activities for the children which in turn creates a structured and engaging learning environment for them.

I look forward to meeting and working with your family.

SAMANTHA KUFLIK

Senior Bank Staff

BEN DAVIES

Playworker

I joined the team in the Summer of 2023, excited to engage with the children at the setting. Being the only male in the team, I bring a different sense of play for the children.

My main career is an actor on both stage and screen - you may have seen me on the TV adverts for Dacia! - but in my spare time away from acting, I love working with the children and being part of their early development.

In my downtime, I love spending time with my step-son and our dog, who we take for long country walks and building Lego!

I look forward to meeting you all:)

We work closely with local schools and colleges, which means at times we will have Student Practitioners within the setting.  All of whom will be assessed for suitability and a dedicated mentor will be with them at all times during their assignment to our setting.

Our belief in learning doesn't stop as soon as a child moves on to 'big school'!

We truly believe learning is for life and we actively encourage all those that would like to learn in whatever way we can, no matter what their age!
