Impstone & Cherry Trees Preschools are community based, not-for-profit preschools. 

Since both preschools inceptions, they have played a vital part in the early education and care of many 2 to 5 year olds in their local communities. Our teaching and support staff have many years experience and along with dedicated and enthusiastic Management and Parent Committees, they are continuing long standing traditions of quality care and education.

Our vision is to offer an excellent preschool educational experience that nurtures and develops the whole child.

Our mission is to give our children the best possible start by providing quality learning programs which encourage independent learning through exploration. We will provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment to guide your child through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Our preschools have a sound reputation of providing excellent preschool education, receiving 'Good' Ofsted ratings over at least the last 2 inspections.

Our preschools offer children a safe and caring environment to dream and grow, whilst stimulating discovery and learning, in preparation for the school years ahead. Our reputation in the local communities are well established and we have many second generation students, as well as siblings and other family members receiving the same caring and stimulating start to their formal education.

Our Manager oversees the preschool, with the support from a committee of dedicated parents and local community members who are elected onto the Management Committee at the AGM annually. The Committee acts on behalf of the members of the Association ie the parents and aims to reflect the views of all users of the Preschool.

Our preschool strive to create warm and caring environments where children are encouraged to become independent learners through exploration of a stimulating indoor and outdoor environment. We believe in the value of periods of uninterrupted play, where children choose their own hands-on activities, combined with teacher directed sessions such as story time, music and movement and assisted crafts.

We have a designated Diversity & Equality Officer, who in conjunction with the manager, has overall responsibility for our programme for promoting equality & valuing diversity.

• We have regard for the DfES SEND Code of Practice (Jan 2015)
• We support parents & children with special educational needs.
• We identify the specific needs of children with SEN & meet those needs through a range of SEN strategies.
• We work in partnership with parents & other agencies in meeting individual children’s needs.
• We monitor & review our policy, practice & provision &, if necessary, make adjustments.
• We have designated Inclusion Officers who have overall responsibility for our programme for supporting children with SEN who works closely with the setting’s Equality Officer, Child Protection Officer & Manager.

Our settings will work with children, parents & the community to ensure the rights & safety of children & to give them the very best start in life.

We are committed to building a culture of safety in which children are protected from abuse & harm in all areas of our service delivery.

We are committed to responding promptly & appropriately to all incidents or concerns of abuse that may occur & to work with statutory agencies in accordance with the procedures that are set down in What to do if you are worried that a child is being abused HMG 2015.

We are committed to promoting awareness of child abuse issues throughout our information, learning or advice for adults.

We are committed to empowering young children, through our curriculum, in promoting their right to be strong, resilient & listened to.

We have a Lead Safeguarding Officer qualified in Advanced Child Protection who has responsibility for our programme for supporting children with Child Protection needs & who works closely with the setting’s Designated Officer from our Parent Management Committee, Designated Person & local Social Care Teams.  All our staff have Safeguarding Level 3 qualifications.
